Siemens PCS7 Engineer

Job Title: Siemens PCS7 Process Control Engineer (Contract)

Location: Somerset County, NJ (Domestic and International as needed)

Contract Type: 1099 or W2 (No C2C)

Duration: Contract – Long-term, project-based

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Siemens PCS7 Process Control Engineer to support a leading industrial gas and specialty chemicals organization. This contract position will play a critical role in executing capital projects, leading control system design, and supporting system commissioning activities. The engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering state-of-the-art control solutions for process plants, both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary PCS7 engineer on multiple capital projects
• Define control system architecture and configure Siemens PCS7, including ET200SP HA and Profinet
• Develop and maintain functional design specifications (FDS)
• Program and test DCS, PLC, and HMI components
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) and support hardware/software validation
• Assist with P&ID development and plant operating procedure documentation
• Participate in hazard reviews, SIL evaluations, and other safety assessments
• Provide on-site commissioning and plant startup support, including troubleshooting and optimization
• Interface with equipment vendors and coordinate integration with MES, historians, and ERP systems

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or similar technical discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with Siemens PCS7 in plant engineering or control systems roles
• Strong background in DCS/PLC/HMI programming and hardware configuration
• Familiarity with OPC communication and integration with third-party systems
• Experience with control panel design, instrumentation selection, and system specification
• Ability to deliver projects on time in a fast-paced, technical environment
• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 15% (domestic/international) for site visits and commissioning

Preferred Experience:

• Knowledge of Matrikon OPC, OSI PI, or similar platforms
• Exposure to FDA validation, functional safety standards, or petrochemical processes
• Experience with other DCS platforms (e.g., Emerson DeltaV, ABB, Yokogawa, Rockwell, Honeywell) is a plus
