System Engineer

Job Title: Systems Engineer – Industrial Automation

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia

Salary: $85,000 – $120,000 (Dependent on experience and location)

My client, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their automation team. This role focuses on designing, programming, testing, and commissioning control systems for automated machinery across multiple customer environments. You’ll work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, and drives while supporting both domestic and international projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain PLC (Ideally Siemens) and HMI software programs
• Troubleshoot, test, and debug automation systems to meet customer requirements
• Revise and optimize control logic for complex systems and subsystems
• Create electrical schematics and support panel assembly interpretation
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and maintain associated documentation
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables
• Travel to customer sites to install, test, and commission equipment (domestic & international)

Required Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years’ experience in industrial controls and systems integration, including engineering and troubleshooting
• 5+ years’ proficiency in programming, commissioning, and/or troubleshooting automation & drive systems
• Ability to travel domestically & internationally
• Based within commuting distance to Alpharetta, GA (3 days onsite per week)
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent experience)
• At least 1 years experience programming Siemens PLCs
• Strong customer focus with a track record of delivering high-quality service and solutions
