Controls Programmer

I’m working with my client to bring on a Controls Programmer for a full-time, onsite role in New York. This person will handle programming and integration for building automation projects, including software configuration, database setup, graphics development, and system commissioning. Some travel within NY will be part of the role.

What You’ll Do:

• Break project scopes into clear tasks and coordinate timelines with the Project Manager

• Program systems based on project requirements and internal standards

• Develop user-friendly graphics for building management systems

• Integrate third-party equipment using BACnet or Modbus

• Work with field technicians to diagnose and resolve BMS issues

• Provide guidance to junior programmers and serve as lead programmer when needed

• Help maintain strong safety, quality, and performance practices across the team

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in building automation, controls, or a related technical field

• Solid understanding of controls hardware, networking fundamentals, and HVAC systems

• Background supporting construction or field teams is a plus

• Strong communication skills and the ability to juggle multiple priorities

• Leadership qualities, initiative, and a team-oriented mindset

• Tridium Niagara experience strongly preferred

Compensation: $52–$63/hr DOE, plus a full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, PTO, holidays, and 401k)
