Building Automation / Controls Technician (Siemens)

Location: North Jersey - Pharmaceutical Site
Employment Type: Full-Time (40 hours/week)

About the Opportunity

We are actively seeking a Siemens-certified or Siemens-experienced Building Automation / Controls Technician to support on-site projects at a large pharmaceutical facility in North Jersey. This role is ideal for a hands-on BAS professional who brings strong technical capability, takes ownership of their work, and values long-term system performance.

You will be embedded on site, working across installation, programming, commissioning, and service of Siemens building automation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, program, commission, and service Siemens building automation and control systems

• Perform installation and termination of BAS field devices in accordance with required standards and specifications

• Execute point-to-point checkout and full system commissioning

• Program control logic and sequences using Siemens tools and languages e.g. PPCL (Power Programming Control Language)

• Troubleshoot system, software, and communication issues, identifying root causes and corrective actions
  

• Proactively identify and recommend process improvements to enhance system reliability and performance

• Deliver projects within established timelines while maintaining high standards

Required Experience & Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Siemens Building Automation Systems (required)

• Proven experience utilizing Siemens BAS software and platforms, including:

• Desigo / APOGEE

• Strong background in HVAC controls and BAS commissioning

• Solid troubleshooting skills at both field and system levels
  

• Comfortable working independently on active client sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or mission-critical environments (pharma, life sciences, clean rooms)

• Advanced graphics development and system optimization experience

• Networking and integration knowledge (BACnet, Modbus)

• Strong documentation and client-facing communication skills

• Interest in continuous improvement and long-term system efficiency
