Sales Engineer

We are seeking a driven and technically skilled Building Automation Sales Engineer to join our team in South Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing opportunities for Building Automation Systems (BAS) and energy management solutions. This position blends technical expertise with strong customer-facing sales ability and offers significant growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage new business opportunities within commercial, industrial, and institutional markets.
• Provide technical guidance and system expertise during the sales process, including BAS architecture, HVAC controls strategies, and integration requirements (BACnet, Modbus, LON, etc.).
• Conduct site visits, perform take-offs, and review mechanical/electrical drawings to prepare accurate proposals.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project management teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Present solutions to consulting engineers, building owners, contractors, and property managers.
• Prepare estimates, project scopes, and pricing based on customer needs and specifications.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to support ongoing service and retrofit opportunities.
• Meet or exceed annual sales targets and pipeline goals.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC controls, Energy Management, or related technical sales.
• Working knowledge of BAS platforms (e.g., Niagara, Distech, Siemens, Honeywell, JCI, Automated Logic, Tridium).
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage time, prioritize, and work independently.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within South Florida.
