Senior Building Automation Sales Executive

Location: New York City, NY
Compensation: Up to $180,000 Base + Unlimited Commission

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Building Automation Sales Executive to play a key role in growing a successful BAS business across the NYC market.

This is a player-coach position - you will be responsible for generating and closing your own business while also mentoring and supporting more junior sales professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong network across building owners, facility managers, mechanical contractors, consulting engineers, and other key stakeholders within the New York building automation market.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and close new business opportunities across Building Automation, HVAC Controls, and smart building solutions.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and relationship development through estimating, proposal, negotiation, and close.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with building owners, facility teams, contractors, engineers, and other industry partners.
• Identify and pursue large, strategic BAS projects across the NYC market.
• Develop existing accounts while creating new opportunities and expanding market share.
• Provide consultative solutions that improve building efficiency, reliability, and operational performance.
• Work closely with engineering and project teams to ensure successful project handover.
• Mentor and coach junior sales professionals, helping them develop their technical knowledge, sales approach, and customer relationships.
• Support the wider sales team with strategy, customer engagement, proposals, and complex opportunities.
• Help develop sales strategies, target accounts, and go-to-market initiatives.
• Represent the business at customer meetings, industry events, networking opportunities, and presentations.
• Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales targets.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience selling Building Automation, HVAC Controls, BMS/BAS, or related building technologies.
• Proven track record of generating and closing significant technical sales opportunities.
• Established network within the NYC commercial building, HVAC, mechanical contracting, or engineering market.
• Strong understanding of BAS, HVAC systems, controls, and building efficiency.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially driven with a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
• Ability to lead by example and develop less experienced sales professionals.
• Comfortable operating independently while collaborating with engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
