Building Automation Systems Specialist – West Palm Beach Area

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Field-based across the West Palm Beach area, FL

Salary Range: $85,000 – $105,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)

Are you an experienced technician with a background in building automation systems, low-voltage integration, or electro-mechanical systems? A leading organization in smart building technologies is seeking a Systems Specialist to join their team and help transform everyday environments into efficient, adaptable, and sustainable spaces.

Position Overview:

In this role, you’ll commission digital control systems on new construction sites, verify system programming and operations, and play a key part in system performance and customer satisfaction. You will be the face of the service team in the field—working closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth commissioning and handover of advanced building systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commission and program distributed control systems according to project specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network or sequence of operation inconsistencies.
• Conduct system verification, final inspection, and customer acceptance testing.
• Provide end-user training and system documentation to clients.
• Perform operational testing and create automated backup processes.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal teams during startup phases.
• Submit time and expense reports accurately and on schedule.
• Work overtime and participate in a rotating on-call schedule as needed.
• Follow all job site and company safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 3+ years’ experience with electro-mechanical systems and related software tools.
• Proficient with low-voltage protocols such as LON, BACnet, N2, Modbus, etc.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, construction, and design documentation.
• Comfortable working in varied environments (roofs, basements, crawlspaces, etc.).
• Capable of lifting/moving up to 75 pounds unassisted.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Must be 18+, possess a valid driver’s license, and be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience configuring PC workstations, interfaces, and network performance tools.
