Controls Engineer – Los Angeles, CA

Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 + Bonus

We are hiring a Controls Engineer in Los Angeles to join a growing system integrator serving clients across the life sciences, food & beverage, and municipal water/wastewater sectors. This is a hands-on, technical leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys programming PLCs, mentoring junior engineers, and working directly with customers throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program and configure PLC/HMI systems (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.) for industrial automation projects.
• Lead internal engineering efforts and mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical development.
• Review design packages and ensure project readiness before deployment.
• Travel to regional customer sites for commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure successful execution and delivery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in control systems design and PLC programming.
• Strong knowledge of control hardware, I/O configuration, and industrial network protocols.
• Comfortable coaching team members and providing technical leadership.
• Strong communication and client-facing skills.
