Role Overview

You will be a key technical expert supporting the design, integration, and optimisation of commercial and industrial solar and energy-storage systems. Acting as a bridge between engineering, sales, and customers, you will guide system architecture, support commissioning, resolve performance issues, and influence future product development.

This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on technical capability, deep knowledge of inverter & ESS technologies, and an ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Lead the technical design, integration, and deployment of commercial and industrial energy storage and inverter systems.
  • Develop and review electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs), schematics, and system layouts.
  • Conduct system modelling, storage sizing, and energy-yield simulations.
  • Support system commissioning, configuration, and optimisation both remotely and on-site.
  • Diagnose and resolve performance issues for ESS, hybrid, grid-tied, and PV-integrated systems.
  • Utilise remote monitoring tools and on-site assessments to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison during pre-sales, project planning, and installation phases.
  • Provide guidance on system requirements, product capabilities, and integration strategies.
  • Deliver technical training for internal teams, installers, and external partners.
  • Ensure systems satisfy NEC, UL, IEEE, and local interconnection standards.
  • Support documentation, system validation, and adherence to best-practice engineering principles.
  • Gather customer insights and field feedback to help shape product improvements.
  • Work closely with R&D and product teams to influence future design and functionality.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Deep technical understanding of inverter technology, PV integration, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Strong capability to commission, configure, troubleshoot, and optimise energy systems in C&I applications.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and review SLDs, schematics, and system architecture documents.
  • Solid working knowledge of NEC, UL, IEEE and interconnection requirements.
  • Experience integrating PV arrays, battery storage, and inverter systems at commercial scale.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Experience conducting system modelling and performance simulations.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, sales, and customer support teams.
  • Experience delivering technical training and supporting installers or partners.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior solar industry experience (installations, product companies, EPCs, utilities).
  • Familiarity with UL certifications such as UL 1741 or UL 1973.
  • Understanding of the broader solar and energy-storage market landscape.
