Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent) or 6-Month W2 Contract
Compensation: Up to $130,000 per year (permanent) or up to $70/hour (W2, 6-month contract)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join our design team in New Jersey, supporting projects in the industrial gases and related process industries. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CADWORKS 3D and AutoCAD or BricsCAD, a strong understanding of piping design principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to challenging projects involving equipment layout, piping systems, and cryogenic process design within a dynamic and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models of equipment and structures to produce comprehensive plant designs.

• Generate orthographic and isometric drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), arrangement details, and location plans.

• Support engineers in creating layouts and drawings for operating facilities, including plans, sections, and elevations.

• Assist in proposal development by preparing conceptual plant layouts and generating orthographic views.

• Review and check vendor drawings, make necessary corrections, and coordinate submittals as instructed.

• Ensure compliance with established CAD standards and industry guidelines for the industrial gases sector.

• Collaborate with other departments and project teams to achieve project goals and deadlines.

• Participate in ongoing training programs and maintain proficiency with current design tools and standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in engineering or drafting technology from a recognized technical institute (required).

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related coursework (preferred).

• Proficiency in CADWORKS 3D and AutoCAD or BricsCAD design software (required).

• Experience with cryogenic piping systems and/or industrial gases industry projects is a strong plus.

• Understanding of pipe stress principles and pipe support design.

• Solid computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

• Excellent organization, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Ability to function effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Compensation & Contract Options

• Permanent: Up to £130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

• Contract: Up to $70/hour (W2) for an initial 6-month assignment, with potential for extension or permanent placement.
